We’re a team of scientists, engineers, ethicists and more, working to build the next generation of AI systems safely and responsibly.

By solving some of the hardest scientific and engineering challenges of our time, we’re working to create breakthrough technologies that could advance science, transform work, serve diverse communities — and improve billions of people’s lives.

We saw early success in computer games. One of our programs learned how to play 49 different Atari games from scratch just from seeing the pixels and score on the screen, and our AlphaGo program was the first to beat a professional player at the ancient game of Go, a feat experts described as a decade ahead of its time.

We joined forces with Google in 2014 to accelerate our work and have continued to make progress on creating breakthrough technologies that could advance science, transform work, serve diverse communities — and improve billions of people’s lives.

We’re inspired by those who came before us and are proud to be a part of the AI community. In particular, we work to make AI more accessible to the next generation. From supporting young people to better understand AI and the role it will play in their future to extending opportunities to enter the field.
